Q: What name do you go by?
Cammy: Cammy, or you can call me CammyTheKid.
Q: Where are you from?
Cammy: I’m from Guilderland, New York.
Q: What led you to this career path?
Cammy: Toxic past relationships and a need for creative expression led me to the world of music. After experiencing the disappointment of a failed relationship, I turned to the booth to channel my emotions and creativity. Music became my solace and a way to find myself again. It made me realize that good is better than bad in everything, and I found solace in music and myself.
Q: Who and what are your biggest influences/inspiration?
Cammy: NBA Youngboy, Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, Future, and Young Thug have been my biggest influences. Growing up, their music showed me various facets and angles of the music world. I was captivated by how they attacked beats from different angles, infusing their unique creativity into every track. This love for their artistry drove me to step into the music scene at the age of 17, and I’ve been on this journey ever since.
Q: What do you consider to be your biggest accomplishment?
Cammy: I’ve had the privilege of playing baseball at prestigious institutions like IMG, Marshall, and Wright State. On the music front, collaborating with Yung Bino and singing with Rich The Kid due to Yung Bino’s connection have been amazing achievements. However, what truly stands out to me are my tracks “Only Fans” and “Freak Ho,” both of which organically garnered 100k streams on Spotify. These achievements are a testament to my growth and dedication.
Q: What is your most recent project?
Cammy: My latest project is the “Cammy Slime Baby” album.
Q: Tell us a little about this project. What are some of your other passions?
Cammy: “Cammy Slime Baby” marked a turning point in my music journey. It taught me that quality triumphs over quantity and inspired me to approach music with professionalism and dedication. It’s a blessing to be able to pour my heart and soul into my music, and I’m also passionate about baseball and spending time with my family.
Q: What is next on the horizon for you?
Cammy: I’m excited to drop my upcoming track “Janet Jackson” featuring Rich The Kid and Yung Bino.
